Founder
world class music, live was founded by Mel Puljic, a serial music entrepreneur on three continents: in South Africa, in the UK and in the US.
Having graduated from South Africa's leading law school in the 90's, Mel immediately launched his first company, signing exclusive territorial licensing and distribution deals with World Circuit (Buena Vista Social Club, etc), 4AD (Pixies, Breeders, etc), TVT (Nine Inch Nails, etc), PIAS (Kruder & Dorfmeister, St. Germain, etc) as well as signing multiple chart topping, SAMA-awarded South African artists at the dawn of post-apartheid South Africa.
In New York, in the early 2000's, Mel founded an independent marketing firm, Rerooted, which served the European export offices of Sony, Universal and BMG in various album and product catalogue campaigns. Rerooted was responsible for sales and strategy for titles by Fela Kuti, Seu Jorge, Cesaria Evora, Salif Keita, Souad Massi, Khaled, Caravan Palace, Rachid Taha. AR Rahman, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and hundreds more.
Mel also leads the awesome company, a boutique performing artist agency; SuperPosition, an artist and concert digital marketing company; and Nepantla Nights, a Latino artists concert producer and promoter.
